Look what I’ve just found. A new Japanese robot called ROPID has hit the scene. This robot has been developed by Tomotaka Takahashi of Robo Garage at Kyoto University. What’s Interesting about this tiny robot is that it can respond to a voice command. You can simply instruct the robot to do something by just simply to talking to it. And also, it has a mouth that actually moves whenever it talks. Check out the video…

Whenever I feel the urge for current technologies and other “techie” things, I usually go to Dvice.com. It is somewhat a blog of all the latest technologies that are available today. From robotics update to state of the art concepts, everything is there. Only the sky is the limit….

For open source softwares, I always rely on filehippo.com. It has a wide variety of open source softwares from anti-virus, messengers, file sharing softwares, frameworks, and a lot more. What I like bout this site is that whenever I download a file, I am rest assured that it is clean, so nothing to worry about.

3. Iconspedia.com

I am very much fond of collecting PNG icons. They are important to me since i’m using them in my artworks, videos, graphics, and other multimedia projects. Iconspedia has big collection of Icons. You can download a file in a .ico or .png format. For a .png format, you can download it in different sizes.

4. Facebook.com

Does anyone on earth does not know facebook? It is the number one social networking site today. It is one of the sites that I browse daily.

5. Acrobat.com

Basically, what I like bout this site is its SCREEN SHARING program. You just need to register and and install a plugin, then you’re good. Not only that, during screen sharing, you can ask your friend to control his/her pc. This is really a nice site! trust me…

6. Google.com

Ok, who does not know google here? I think everybody knows google at all. But have you tried all the stuffs it has to offer? You might be shock to know this, but you can make a good Document (Word), Spreadsheet (Excel), Presentation (Powerpoint), and other documents using google docs. Have you also tried using Google Maps? One of the application for google maps is for giving locations of certain places. This might be simple but trust me, it’s very helpful. Another thing that google has to offer is its powerul browser called google CHROME. It is one of the fastest and realiable browsers today. Although it is not yet on its final development, I can say that this will be the browser I will be using for the rest of my surfing days. Not only that Google also has a photo organizer called PICASA. This software will look for pictures in your hard disk and organize them in a fashionable way. You’ll surely love this software when you get your hand on it. It has really a good interface.

7.Deviantart.com

If you are looking for some cool artwork, try visiting deviantart.com. It has a very wide collection of artwork from graphics, photoshop graphics, animations, and a whole lot more… Maybe you’ll get some idea here…

8. ThePiratebay.org

If you’re looking for cool torrents like latest movies, musics, games, and applications, try piratebay.org. It has a big collection of files in its database. And also, it has COMMENT area where you can think before you download such file. Remember, downloading something from teh net is a gamble.

9. Animoto.com

Are you someone who collects pictures of yourself like me? Nothing is much more enjoying than watching your pictures in slideshows. It’s not just a typical slideshow, but a COOL slideshow. Its animation is so great that you’ll surely love it. Disadvantage? It’s not for free. However, you can try their 30 second video… Not bad though!

10. Yahoo Answers

Last but not the least, Yahoo Answers… Whenver there is something that google cannot help me, I go and ask something in Yahoo. With millions of people interacting here, you’ll surely get the kind of answer to need.

1. AVG

It has become a habit for me that after reformatting my laptop, an anti-virus should be installed first. I have used a lot of anti-virus softwares but nothing is much more efficient to use than AVG. It’s just so user friendly that even a first time user will not find it hard to use and navigate.

2. Autorun Eater

After AVG, this is another software which i always rely on. This humble software can do a lot of things. If you have a problem with your RegEdit, or your Folder Options has been blocked, or you cannot open your TaskManager, This could be a big help. Open Billy and you’re good… Just don’t mind how it sounds like…..

3. Ccleaner

This is one the of the software that I really like. What I love bout this software is that it takes less than a second to load. Aside from that it does not contain any spyware or adware. Basically what it does is that it will remove unused files from user system, thus, allowing windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. Not only that, it can also clean traces of your online activity such as your browsing history, cookies, and other files from the web that may contain harmful viruses.

4. HijackThis

Whenever my laptop is infected with a serious virus (ex. VIRUT), and my AVG (what can you expect from a freeware) nor my Ccleaner can’t deal with it, I have no choice but to run this software. This software is not for someone who has a little knowledge on operating systems. Basically what it does is that it will make a LOG file after it inspects your browser settings and your operating system settings. The log file will give you an idea on the current state of your computer. You can remove unwanted settings in your log file but be very extra cautious on the settings that you will delete since this might cause your system a problem.

5. Malwarebytes

I have used this software for quite some time already and I find it very helpful. Although this is not an open source software, you can download it through torrents. This software will remove malwares from your computer. This is very powerful and is the number one anti-malware software available today.

6. Google Chrome

I have already introduce my “anti-virus” softwares, now let’s go to the internet browsers that I am currently using. There are a lot of Internet browsers that are very powerful but they are nothing compared to my google CHROME. I am inlove with this browser. It is very flexible, easy to use, does not contain a lot of buttons, it is fast, easy to navigate, has modern look, what else? If you’re looking for a browser, I would be very proud to recommend this to you. Although it is not yet on its final development, I can say this is the browser that I will use for the rest of my surfing days…..

7. Mozilla Firefox

Ok, you might be wondering why I have this in the list when I already have my google Chrome?  Well, actually I use firefox as a substitute browser to my CHROME. As you know chome is not yet on its final development. There are still a lot of things that needs to be improved and I find firefox to be the second powerful and safe browser to use. Aside from its security, firefox also has a lot amzing stuffs to offer.

8. Utorrent

If you are looking for a torrent software that will download your torrent files, Utorrent is the software you’re looking for. What I like bout this software is that it downlaod fast regardless of your bandwith. Disadvantage? It will consume all your bandwidth making your browsers freeze. I normally use this during sleeping hours. Just open the software and in the morning when you wake up, whoala! download is finish!

9. Limewire Pro

Basically my torrent is just for downloading movies, applications, games, and other stuffs. I use limewire for downloading music videos, music, videos, and a lot more. It can also download applications too but I’ll leave that to my torrent. Limewire is the fastest filesharing software available today. It is compatible in all major platforms and is running over the Gnutella network. You can download Limewire (the free one) but I recommend that you get Limewire Pro. HINT: you can get it through torrent. don’t buy it!!!!! hahaha

10. Styler

I am using Windows XP. I find it very easy to use, fast, and more secure than any of the Microsoft operating systems.  However, who would not want to have the windows VISTA look?  vista sucks but the way it looks is just so adorable. To give my XP a VISTA look, I downloaded this open source software called Styler. What it does is that it gives you the ability to change your XP themes thus giving your XP a nice vista interface.

11. Object Dock

Tired of having a lot of shortcuts that doesn’t fit the look of your desktop? Object dock is the answer. Its docklet interface is pretty amazing that will blend to the look of your styler. It will give you a dock where you can put your shortcuts in it in a more fashionable look. I have been using this software for a very long time already. I just simply love the way it is…

12. Itunes

I am music lover and I love to collect musics from different artists. After I downloaded them using my LIMEWIRE PRO, I would need to organize them in such a way that it will not give me a headache. In order to do that, I have my Itunes installed in my laptop. All you need to do is to put all your music files in a single folder in any directory you would want to put them, and syncronize them in your Itunes. With this, all your music files will be organized in just a little effort from you…

13. VLC player

For movie files, i use this VLC media player. It is very portable and supports a lot of video and audio file formats. With it, watching movies will be much fun.

14. Skype

There is no question on which is the number one messenger software today. Definitely that is SKYPE! I am fond of communicating with my friends online not because it is free but basically because it is how we communicate today, ONLINE.  I can say that skype is exceptional when it comes to VoIP and Webcam chats. It is not like Yahoo Messenger that would require high bandwidth in order for you to enjoy its cam sharing feature. And skype also runs in various formats including MAC OS, PDA’s, WINDOWS, and a lot more….

15. Yahoo Messenger

Well, I just can’t leave my friends who are using Yahoo Messenger, In order to cope up with them, I need to have a YM… honestly, I DONT LIKE IT! i just simply don’t like it…. but I have no choice….

16. Chikka Messenger

Runnin’ out of load? get your chikka messenger now and enjoy 3 text per number a day…

17. Macromedia Fireworks (Can be downlaoded using torrent)

I’m not really good at photoshop and I’m proud to say that fireworks is the first photo editing software i’ve used and I already had my heart in it. It is very easy to use and although it is not really as powerful as photoshop, it still can give you the kind of output you need.

18. Adobe Photoshop CS3 (Can be downlaoded using torrent)

Well, I need it. The world has it already and why not have it…hehe… I’m starting to change software now from fireworks to photoshop. I really need to learn in order to improve….

19. Microsoft Office 07 (Can be downlaoded using torrent)

Man this is a need more than want! I don’t know anyone who is using Windows OS and does not have a microsoft office installed in it….

20. ULEAD Video Studio (Can be downlaoded using torrent)

I am also fond of editing videos. I make music videos and a lot more. I can say that ULEAD is one of the powerful video editing software available today. It gives you a lot of flexibility and can really render a good output…
